Got myself an Asus eeePC today - As a matter of fact I'm posting from it. Nice gizmo I must say.

If someone figures out how to package up some back end services they could sell them into schools I think

I played with one of them at college last week (they're already getting them in for disabled students to use). Now I'm definitely getting one. I had been worried about the tiny keyboard, but I found I could still almost touch type on it, a bit of getting used to and it would be perfect. Excellent little machines.

Is that the ultra-low cost linux laptop? I've been tempted....

Yep. I think I'm going to wait until the 900 model is released, with a 9" screen instead of 7", more RAM, but still the same size overall.

It's cool - People are installing XP onto it but I can't understand why. The linux setup is very nice indeed and it's the quickest I've ever got a device onto t'internet at home.

I've got the one with 4gb of storage. Should be plenty. I need to pop some video onto it and see how it goes but it dealt with YouTube nicely.

There's the 99 quid one from Elonex (?) coming soon I think.
