Check out this sale from last night http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-CERVELO-CARBO ... dZViewItem WTF

It would appear the guy accepted an offer of £150 for a brand new Cervelo Soloist Carbon with full Campag Record and Mavic Cosmic Carbone wheels!!!!!

The bike must be worth £5000 and all his feedback seems legit!

Am I reading it incorrectly or is he just a complete idiot!!!!

Then again maybe he was pissed last night and well pissed off today!

It seems to pass all the usual checks for a scam, only thing that is worrysome is the price he sold it at! Maybe worth arranging a visit if you are serious about buying one of the 9 bikes he seems to be selling.

Weird that the guy declined £700, £350 and £300 before accepting £150.

nah what he did was end the auction early with a "best offer" of £150 as a deposit so he didn't have to pay the ebay fees for £3500. So I reckon the £150 price you see is just as the deposit.. Who knows.. Nice bike tho :)

May as well put an offer on his Scott MTB, just to test him to see if he is selling it for best offer price.

this will be what's happened i'd imagine - a deal between buyer and seller to pretend to ebay that it went for £150 - hence the lower selling fee;s (which have taken a turn up recently!)

Or simply got a mate to end the auction without any adverse effect on feedback? Posh-bikes been around a while I think, no doubt plenty of friends in the trade to help abort after deciding against selling.

Risky (for the seller), that is a bit "obvious" on the part of the seller, avoiding ebay fees is against the rules (not that I care) but a bigger sum, like the £150, would have been much less obvious. The other downside is the loss of protection for the full sum, but thats not a big problem if its a reputable seller and / or you know where they live!
