Campag cassette question
I think I ask this question every time I'm in the market for a Campag cassette.
However, as I have no shame I'll ask again; at which point on the range does the cassette become the same in terms of machining/materials and the pricing becomes based on finish?
Thanks.

AS far as I know, Centaur and Chorus use the same quality sprockets. The difference between the two comes down, I think to the design and material of the spacers. This affects weight more than anything else.
I think Record probably uses titanium on some of the sprockets and again uses different spacers etc.
I've used both Veloce and Centaur on my bikes and to be honest don't notice any difference.
I still fall for the hype though and spend the extra on Centaur! :oops:0 -
...or you could do it properly and get a Shimano...

Would also have an inferior spline pattern.0

Record will have Titanium for the larger sprockets, the idea being that although it's softer, you'll be superhumanly fit, and spend most of your day sitting on the little cog!
I recently was looking for something uber-light for the wife, and settled on Veloce - I figured I got more bang for my buck elsewhere on the component list - In this case, I spent more on the derailleur (and I won't be whincing every time I hear the crash from behind as she grinds her way up through the cassette)0
