I'm ripping my hair out! Looking for a soft shell windproof jacket/jersey type thing, way too much choice out there. Would like removeable sleeves too if that's not asking too much. Anyone got any ideas/reccomendations???

    Howies extra miler softshell.

I have the 8 miler, it's predecessor & it's a great softshell, windproof, showerproof, very breathable & packs down quite small, top bit of kit.

I have the extra miler. Its certainly versatile, very breathable and a nice looking jacket.
Its not very waterproof, but does dry out very quickly, and has the benefit of looking good off the bike.
However,I have had an issue with the drawstring coming unattached, from the hem,and the zips have been a bit tempermental. My £60 Altura feels more durable. The fit is bit short if you are long in the body too.

Plumped for the Polaris Niteride, so far it's great, even on colder days with a thermal base layer. Bit snug roady-style for some but it's fast becoming my favorite peice of kit and for only £30!

Only downside is the sleeves aren't removeable, but I guess you can't have it all.

Thanks for the replies though chaps.
