Hi Guys, I posted last week an update since my first thread "Another Newbie" saying waht had happened to me since then and I got one reply, I guess no one saw it.
Never mind here is my post again.....

Hi All

Well where to start, after posting the start of this Thread I have suffered 2 Heart Attacks
and while in Hospital after having an operation on my Heart I was also diagnosed as being Type 2 Diabetic so it was a Double Whammy for me. Sad
I have been off work since then recovering so I could not even afford that Decathlon
as my money has been much less than it would have been if I was still working
at the moment.
Now in my recovery it is even more Imperative that I regain my fitness besides still
wanting to Ride again.
I want your Opinions if you dont mind on two MTBs that I am bidding on on ebay at the
moment as I cant afford a nice new MTB.
They are a Specialised FSR Pro that is 3 years old and a Marin Wolf Ridge Tara?
Thanks in advance Guys.
Peace
Andrew.

Right I have now invested in the second hand Marin Wolf Ridge from ebay and I am waiting for it to be delivered to me now.
I asked the seller a question about whether he would be sending me the Manual/s with the bike and was told that he not longer had them.
Can anyone tell me where I might be able to buy a copy, I have been to the Marin sites but can not for the life of me locate either a email address or a phone number to contact them which I find frustrating you know.
Secondly how much do you think a service will cost me and would most bike shops accept a bike that was not bought in their shop?
I know of a good one called Moose Cycles where a friend bought their bike.
How do I find out about the PSI? for the Shocks and what do I do with them?
I do hope that I hear back from some of you even if these seem like Dumb Ass
Questions. :-)
I cant wait to kick start my health again.
Thanks in advance Guys.
Peace
Andrew.

your problem is that people get bored reading before they get to the question.

Why do you want the manuals? they tell you nothing.

If you need a manual on a part get it from the makers webby. See the tech links sticky.

if you want to know how to look after your bike read parktools webby and then maybe buy a book like the Parktools big blue book of bike maintenance.

pressures set them so that the sag you want is archived. but again it all depends on what you have. things change from make to make amd model to model and year to year.

A shop will service a bike, no probs: they maty have to send specific parts away if need be. Looking at 50 quid plus for a general service.

I agree with nick, getting a good book is essential. Park or Zinn are two good examples.

Work with the specialists with your health, don't want to overdo it! I take beta blockers, a bugger to exercise with.

Diabetes is no hurdle for excercise, just be careful with regards to the amount of energy you use. Different people use slightly more/less. Type 2 is diet controlled? or hormone injections? Cn never remember which is which. Till you've been out on the bike and done BM test before/during and after the DSN/Dietician can't offer anymore advice than take some food with you and eat before you go out. Start small say 5 miles and see how things go. The heart prob may restrict your mileage also.

If you need any advice from somebody who has lived with diabetes for 20+ yrs PM me and I'll offer the help that I can.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
