Hi everyone!!

I have a quick question. I know that a triple crankset has 3 chainrings and a double has two. But what is a compact? does it have 2 or 3 chainrings?

Thanks,

Jon

Compact has two chainrings , outer 50 tooth and inner 34 tooth, double has 52 outer teeth chainring and 39 inner chainring.

    Ermm! Usually.....
A compact can have a big ring of either 50 or 48 teeth, and an inner of 36 or 34.
AS Ramo38 says the most usual combination is 50 and 34, but the other sizes are usually available, and might suit some riders.
  • that was very exhaustive!

    Thanks guys!!!
