I've taken next week off to get some riding in (and, according to SWMBO, to choose a new bathroom).
The forecast is looking pants. It always chucks it down when I'm on leave:(0 -
The Late Mick Potts always said to me"If you worry about the weather in this Country you will never do anything :!:" .stop whining and get out and RIDE :shock:bagpuss0

Think this may the best attitude and one I'll have to adopt. It's bloody annoying though; I'm sat here in the office looking out at a crisp, calm, clear day unable to get out. Come the weekend it's rain and gales. :x
So bugger it - I'm going out...0 -

Agreed! Managed to sneak out at lunch time yesterday for a ride but won't be able to today unfortunately.0 -
I got out in it and have been doing so all winter but I don't relish it. I'm going out today though and it looks glorious doesn't it?
I've never actively looked forward to the clocks changing as much as I have this year. Usually, it just kind of happens and on the night itself I see a reminder on the news when I'm half asleep and think, "oh yeh, clocks changing zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" but this year I've been counting down to it.
LIGHT NIGHTS YEEEHHHHHHHHH0 -
Actually, the weekend forecast on Metcheck is getting better as the week goes on. By tomorrow it should be predicting unseasonable warmth.
Here's hoping anyway!!0 -
I hate riding in wind (but don't ming the rain or the cold), and usually fins a lame excuse to not go out if it looks too windy. This thread's given me the push - gonna go out all four days over the bank holiday for a couple of hours early each morning regardless of how breezy it is.
Lets just hope I can keep this motivated until Friday!Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0 -
i'm the opposite! dont mind the wind but hate the rain.0

what I find works best is to just choose your route to best fit the weather. If it's raining then pick an hour(ish) route and put your waterproof on. By the time you wet and miserable your just about home anyway for that refreshing shower and cup of tea.
If it's really windy then pick a route that changes direction more often so it's not always in your face.
If you find yourself riding in a nice sunny warm day with no wind and all the hills seem effortless then it's time to wake upCycling - The pastime of spending large sums of money you don't really have on something you don't really need.0 -
I don't mind cold or some rain. But i HATE wind, It cut's right through me0

I dont mind wind or rain once I am out! However it is often a test of my (very weak) character when I look out the window at howling gales and lashing rain. Forecast not great here for the weekend either!0

I was returning from a work trip in a hire car one dark, snowy, Winter night and about 10 miles from Derby on the A6. A lone cyclist came from the other direction. I knew it was Mick - nobody else would be training in that weather! He must have ridden close on 40 miles on his way home from work - direct distance was about 10. He confessed as much when I saw him later.
I had a pleasant ride today - not bothered too much about the weekend
