Been having a look around for some new TT wheels and come across the FFWD ones that are available in a few of the shops - anyone seen a review of them?? Looking at their main website (www.ffwdwheels.com) they look pretty good, and they don't seem too expensive either.

Anyone had any experience of them?? Or better still, any chance of a review please C+??!! Would be nice to see a review of TT specific wheels - disks / tri spokes etc.

C+ (me) are going to test their disc, once we (not me) glue a tubular on it. And BikeRadar (James Huang) will be testing some of these: http://www.bikeradar.com/road/news/arti ... lset-14638

I've not seen any reviews but they look good. I especially like the fact that they've used recognised (and tried and tested) components like DT Swiss hubs and Sapim CX-ray spokes so there is less likelihood, you'd hope, of problems with these.

According to their website they'll also sell you a replacement rim for half the normal price should you damage it in a crash (a la Burghardt in last year's Tour). That's a great idea.

Cool - looking forward to the review.

Andy - agree with you completely about the parts they are using, makes quite a nice change!! Will be good to see them in action - just need to think about doing some more training first!!

WOW - those are some light wheels!! Part of the article appears to be missing though (fourth para "but unlike.....")!! Best shed a few pounds and get down to my racing weight before I think about them

I was in Sigma in Kingston tonight and they had some of the 38 mm wheels on display. They look really good, with a choice of a matt or gloss finish, and also have some nice touches, i.e. the inside of the rim around the valve hole is slightly deeper to stop the tub bulging and there is no lacquer on the rims so braking is good from the off. They come with decent quality wheel bags, skewers and brake blocks too.

They also told me who the UK importer is and I know him so will have a word with him when I see him next to find out if any of the UK magazines or websites will be reviewing them soon. FWIW, the guys in Sigma think they're a great deal for the money, especially with the DT Swiss hubs as part of the package, which they rate highly.
