I have Continental Supersonic R28 tubes on my new bike, and was thinking of buying some spares. I've noticed they are available with different valve lengths, but I don't know why, or which ones I would need to buy. Anyone know?

  • It depends on what rim depth you have - for anything up to about 30mm the standard length valve is fine, any deeper and you'll need the longer version (60mm i think)

Thanks Mike. I have Fulcrum racing 3's - I'm sure I can look up the rim depth somewhere without taking the tyre off.

Yep, it says 26mm on the Fulrcum website, so I guess the shorter valves are OK.
