Is it just me or has the latest improvements to Ebay's searching software led to a large, regressive step backwards in the ability to find what you're after?

I've just done a search for Campagnolo Delta and rather than the 4 or 5 items it used to throw up it's come up with 482 in the UK alone.

It's all done to improve the buying experience, like chopping feedback for buyers, reducing listing fees whilst hiking selling fees sky-high, banning Google Checkout and always finding in the buyers' favour in Paypal disputes.

I haven't been on eBay for a while but there's been a few complaints on the model aircraft forum I use. Apparently there are ways of getting round it.

See http://www.rcmf.co.uk/4um/index.php/topic,52584.0.html for what's been said there.

  • I wish they'd stop messing about with it, you don't always have time to get used to new layouts.

Hmmm, I've a stack of books, cycling jerseys, CDs and other odds & ends I want to get rid of. Maybe just them at the local charity shop is going to be less hassle.
  • Hmm, ebay can be a god send, just managed to get a nice frame, wheel set and some other bits and bobs for very little money. Although I agree it can be hard work tracking down exactly what you're after at times.

Dunno where I'd be without eBay (probably a bit richer but there you go) Never had a problem with any seller and have actually found out that there are indeed some really nice, genuine people out there. Nigerian Princes excepted of course.
