I am a recent convert to SportsTracks and I think its a great piece of software.
If I display a daily activity it gives me all the data relating to the ride and a route in the bottom right hand corner. In screen shots of the software I have seen this route over a map, all i get is a blue route.
Any ideas how I get the route to be layed over a map of the area I was riding in?

  • I think you need to have google earth installed for that to work. I have and it does.

sporttracks when its isntalls defaults to 'None' behind the routes

See the drop down where you see your route, saying routes, click it and select 'street'

EDIT - Not explaining this well, so see screenshot below

dont know why it defaults to it, but got a lot of people first time using sportracs: S
    Road - BTwin Sport 2 16s
    MTB - Trek Fuel 80
    TT - Echelon

Just a couple of points from a computer novice so feel free to ignore

Do you connect to the internet via a proxy? If so you will need to put the settings into SportTracks using the settings menu.

Alternatively your firewall could be blocking the programs access to the internet.

this has been the problem with me in the past.

Although if you have two activities in the same day it will also not show any map until you expand and separate the two activities.

fto-si - would you by any chance have a Mitsubishi FTO? great cars!!

I am even more of a novice! So how do I know if I connect via a proxy?
I use AOL if that helps you answer the question, I have seen the option in SportsTracks settings asking if I connect via a proxy but unsure if I do or dont!

I have a GR, although it's starting to look a bit sorry for itself compared to the good old days when it got cleaned for a couple of hours every weekend!! I know what you mean about petrol prices, but I'm going to stay with mine now until it pretty much dies as the resale value isn't great!

back to Sporttracks, I doubt you will connect to the internet through AOL via a proxy, but you could have a firewall installed.

If that is the case you should get a pop up asking if you will allow sporttracks to access the internet, you have to allow it. Or you can open your admin centre for the firewall, go to program control, find sporttracks and allow it access to the internet.
