yeah another thing I want to replace (decided not to originally but now looking at it better realised I'd bent the rails right at the front of it, and not just a small amount of plastic I thought I had done instead.

Budget is £20-30, and will be going on SMICA Pro Alloy seat post

I mainly ride DJ/ moderate FR, and am personally bothered more on reliability/comfort (I will be communting to work on this bike once it's up and running again aswell) over weight/price

any suggestions (I've got a few in mind but never having riden them it's kinda hard to tell, I prefer to take from peoples experiences than specs)?

Thanks ;)

Charge Spoon. £20, light, comfy, strong. It's so cheap that it's worth a punt. Got one to replace a Spesh BG2 which was too soggy. Spoon is firmer, so padding doesn't squish out to the wrong places and restrict blood flow to the undercarriage like the BG did. Pins and needles down there an interesting sensation though!!!!
The only bad view from the saddle is of the point of impact rising rapidly to meet you.

yeah now you see i was going to recommend a spoon as i have two but for FR/DH i dunno about that. i'd prefer something with more actual padding

ah ok just read about commuting on the bike as well. have a look at the spoon. don't know about any other saddles though i'm afraid - i just went for the one with the highest reviews

    WTB Pure V.

Very comfy, nice amount of padding, channel to protect your unborn children, not too heavy.

Charge Stool might be worth a look over the spoon for DJ its under 20 quid aswell..also the latest batch of stools are'nt quite as good as the previous lot.

Charge Spoon is next on my list as an XC saddle but it might be a bit long as a DJ saddle.

charge spoon looks much more XC orientated, and I don't think it'll be appropriate for the abuse I'm likely to give it (previous seat was SDG Bel-Air - few seasons old), and stool looks a little chunky and a bit short ^^.

WTB Pro V Race was already on my mind, just confirmed what I thought from specs, and a few reviews ;)

I only ride 2-3 miles to work, and tbh in them morning if I'm running a little late I sprint as much as I can to make sure I don't get docked (^^)

don't take the commuting on it too highly, I need it to be much more FR orientated than anything else!!!

/e anyway I'm going to go order the Pure V Race, hopefully I'll get all my kit togethor by the weekend and can get riding my bike asap
