I have had a bottom of the range Shimano Hub for years + its fantastic (DH-3N32 I think)
Now the rim is worn out - I'm after a new wheel - so wanting a new ShimanoDynahub
(not wanting to start a smitt/shimano debate here - liked what I had + happy to stick with Shimano)
I'm after a lighter one than before - I hear there are Ultegra grade hubs.
but there seem to be many versions that I can buy
DH-3N70, DH-3N71, DH-3N80 and DH-2N80-E
there seems no info on the difference in these
which give out the most light + are the lightest?
(I'm gonna get an LED to go with it)
thx

I have heard that the DH-3N80 is more efficient and lighter than the old 71. I think that there was something on the CTC forum recently, so it might be worth a look there.
If you are looking for a new wheel, I'd recommend buying from Germany - the prices are generally good for dynamos. Roseversand are good.0 -
I have seen bikes for sale in Germany with Shimano dynamo hubs. Some have the 3N20 and some the 3N30. Does anyone know what the difference is between these two hubsl? I have seen a Shimano instruction leaflet on the web which applies to both these types, but it doesn't say what the difference is between them.0

The DH-2N80 will be a 2.4W hub, intended for use without a rear light.
The 3N80 is meant to be a bit more efficient than the 3N70/71, but I doubt there will be much in it. The main difference is that it's lighter - about 100g?0
