Hi,

I'm looking for some advice. I'm looking to buy a pretty decent heart rate monitor/cycle computer/general gadgetyness :lol: !

I've narrowed it down to 2 choices;

Polar CS400

Garmin Edge 305 (with Heart Rate monitor and cadence sensor)
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=160&pID=331

Has anyone had any experience with either of these devices? Or any recommendations???

Cheers

    Loads of experience with the Edge 305. Great piece of kit for training. Stores all of your data on the PC so you can see improvement. I;ve set up various training programmes and the unit on the bike sees you through it.. beeping when you;ve got to pedal like hell... beeps when to rest etc. Also a pretty decent GPS as well so you can see where you;ve been and even programme courses to follow.

    Highly recommended. There is a new version out that has colour maps as well (705).

    No experience of the Polar so can't comment.

    WOuld get the 305 again with no hesitation whasoever.

    May i sugest that you try one before you buy, as i spent some time working out the one I wanted, spent my hard earned cash only to find that I don't seem to have a pulse!
    It worked on everyone else that tried it other than me.
    In reading the instructions I learned that this is normal for a few people

    Thanks for the comments!

    I had already pretty much made my mind up to go with the Garmin Edge so good to see it recommended.

    I'll be ordering it tonight!
