This weather is making me fat

My normal 27 mile a day cycle to work has been curtailed due to this crappy weather. In the last 10 days I've done virtually nothing and I can't stop eating!!!!
I've put on about 1/2 stone and if I don't get good weather next week I will end looking like Rick Waller.

As a hardy 13.5 mile a leg commuter, i'd have thought a wee set of waterproofs might have seen you through??
But then, just how bad was the weather round your way?Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.

Cycling to work in just cycle shorts is not an option as I'm too fat and people would laugh.0

Agreed if you worry about weather living in the uk then you will miss most of the year as when its wet it's too wet
when its cold it's too cold
when it blows it's too windy
and when the sun comes out it's too hot
Just ignore the weather and carry on .
Also I have given up thinking what people think about how I look as there is always someone who looks worse"BEER" Proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy0 -
you're all a bunch of wet bags! Stop moping about and get the hell out on your bikes! Despite the weather this week I still managed to clock up 265 miles and it was all on the road none of this indoor cycling malarky!
Feeling pleased with myself tonight cos on my 18 mile commute home I clock and average of 21! Well stoked!!
Despite that I probably still haven't lost any weight

That was my commute until I retired as well (ie 135 miles/week). I did it every day regardless of weather throughout the year unless I was injured/ill or needed the car to carry something - no more than a handful of times usually. I was often half way there before I realised it was raining . Ice and snow brought out the barrow and I occasionally got in when guys who worked for me couldn't manage it because their cars were buried.
You won't shrink - just do it!
GeoffOld cyclists never die; they just fit smaller chainrings ... and pedal faster0 -
It's not the weather that's making me fat its:-
me hormones
me age
alcohol
too much dinner
too many nibbles
excessive laziness
and at the bottom - adverse weather conditions
I might as well give up now!0 -
"This weather is making me fat"
Let me explain....no it isn't!
Rather like one of the truly over-weight folk on our recent trip to Spain who said "it's my medication that does it". Yeah, sure, that and the fact that she ate about 4 times what anyone could possibly need!
I'm just bitter. Having recommenced building up the pedalling miles at Xmas I got up to 9 1/2 st: 10 days off for hols, back below 9! Looks like I'll never make my lifelong ambition of 10 st....d.j.

Get on the bike - I cycle all weather - including the crazy winds earlier this week....the only thing that stops me is ICE, and it only get's than bad for a week or so. Get some good waterproofs...0

don't be such a tart. No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing. If it's just wet, take spare clothes to work to cycle home in. Rain refreshes you, anyway am sure someone said it was character building, that's why i do it, unless I'm just daft. hehe0
