I got mine yesterday! It is GREAT!

So far I have tooted at at:

1) My girlfriend (by accident when I was playing with it just out the box) - in the flat. Damn it's loud!

2) A seagull. Heh!

3) A pigeon on my window sill.

Where are all the badly behaved pedestrians? :(

ETA there was an old lady who was crossing the cyclepath, but I thought that might've been a bit much

I got the bloke one for xmas as he was pining for one. But when it arrived, I couldn't resist waking him up with it (he's one of those who goes into such a deep sleep that clock radios etc are powerless to wake him.)

I've never seen him wake up so quickly, the look on his face was priceless, and it was only a little toot! I laughed for ages. (I was across the other side of the room, it wasn't right in his ear or anything).

I must admit my gf was dozing in bed when I accidently* set it off. A similar result!

*really - I didn't think they came with air in them

Airzounds might just be the ultimate safety product - bought my brother-in-law one for the xmas before last and by September he hadn't once found the need to use it!

I accidentally set it off in my office (I get parcels sent to work). Never knew they came with air in them either! I was not popular with my colleagues.

No matter how badly behaved pedestrians are there's no cause for one of these things - just shout. If I was to get blasted by one while out walking I'd get extremely peeved. I might even think badly of all cyclists because of the behaviour of one!

I set mine off in the office on arrival as well, scared the sh*t out of me and certainly woke the office up.

They are the ultimate bit of kit, great for clearing cycle paths of 4 wide groups of ramblers etc

Wouldn't be without mine on my 20 mile commute each day.

Ian, without meaning to be disrespectful I can think of quite a few occasions when an AirZound would be really handy. You'll not always be heard shouting over noisy traffic.

I... I am lost for words here.

Hang on, no I'm not! Wot evs, daddio!

But to be serious - of course I'm not going to be blasting that thing at normal pesky pedestrians... I'm saving it for proper Wrongdoers!

    Also, shouting? Last year!

I usually get positive vibes back from walkers on cycle paths when I give them a phrarrp on my AirZound!!

You can get there attention from 100 feet away and give them time to manouever into a less track filling arrangement before passing by with a pollite thankyou!!

Alternatively the ignorant none movers can be treated to an impression of a passing express train with horns at full blast.

Both techniques seem to work

Errm, I don't think AirZounds should be used on pedestrians for the most part. Giving a fright to your mates is one thing, but really, you should be slowing down and taking care around them.

Ianament, I presume you are making an oblique reference to the RLJ thing here! (you are the guy that rejects this "tarred with the same brush" rationale, aren't you???). Well played, anyway

Yes I was being ironic. I don't like zounds though as they seem too aggressive.

    Pip pip.

A phrarrp from 100 feet is better than the quiet tinkle of a bell from 10feet.

Considerate walkers should always be passed with respect at a safe speed.....

Inconsiderate walkers on cycle paths should at least feel the rath of your AirZound accompanied by a sarcastic retort!

As for dangerous car drivers.. stereo AirZounds... now there's a thought!!

I must confess to using my AirZound on a runner once. It was extremely cruel, and one of the most funny things ever, I still feel guilty.
  • Where do I get one?

For use on other half, get her out of bed! :D

I want an airzound, Im just waiting till I need a few bits and pieces to buy at the same time... Would save me knocking on car and van windows to get drivers to budge over a bit :D A BIG noise maker probably works better than screaming hysterically at a driver if they do something wrong as well :D.

Looks like CRC has the market beat on this one?
