ADRIAN CHILES

From the warm comfort of my bed this morning I see that Adrian Chiles (TV guy) and Mr Newcastle United Alan Shearer are doing a sponsored cycle from Newcastle to London in two days via West Bromwich. Via West Brom cos that's Chiles's footie team. Apparently it's over 300 miles! Well hats off if they do it - but I saw no hollow cheeks this morning, and I got the feeling that the enormity of their task was just sinking in. I just wonder how much training they've done. They are going to suffer like dogs what with the headwinds, the cold and the sheer distance. Perhaps a furniture van to lead them would be handy!!
Chiles did not endear himself to me with a cheap shot comment about TdeF riders and stimulants.
Does anyobe remember that some years ago another TV personality and ex-Hereford United goalie- one David Icke who later came over all religious - did some sort of sponsored ride, was it Midlands to London return? And he was absolutely cream crackered. On the TV report Phil Griffiths came out and gave him a few pushes.

Yes, I heard the remark about substances too. Such a shame really that Mr Chiles keeps his brain cell in his backside! They ought to get Nichole Cook at the finish to interview him. Wonder what she'd ask?
Still, good luck to them, I hope they do it.0 -
The substances remark was a joke.0
