Seized up pedals/replacement crank arm
1 recently tried to upgrade the stock pedals on my Carrera valour to Shimano 105s, but couldn't get the old pedals off the crank arms. As the bike is only 4 months old, I took it back to Halfords, who have managed to get one off, but can't get the other off. I've asked them to sort it out under warranty, which will probably involve a new crank arm, but is there anything to watch out for?
The chainset on the bike at the moment is a Prowheel compact 50/36T with alloy rings - just want to make sure they don't put on any sub-standard parts!
Thanks
Andy

Desperate times call for desperate measures....so, assuming you don't want to keep the old pedals; strip the offending pedal down to the spindle, remove crank arm from bike, place spindle in sturdy vice and apply leverage to crank in appropriate direction to free it up. A liberal soaking with Plus-Gas or WD40 will help too.

Try taking it a different bike shop, probably find a small local place is better than Halfords. If its under warranty they'll probably put the same kit back on it.0

I've spoken to the guys at Halfords, who seem pretty happy to replace the carnk arm under the gusrantee, so that should take care of itself.
I suppose that I just need to make sure that they don't fob me off with a lower spec version that they happen to have lying around, though I'm guessing that the chainset I've got on there at the moment is unbranded and not a particularly high spec part - can anyone confirm that?0
