Does anyone know the hardest wearing finish on the middleburn middle chainring? It'll have to be a 4-bolt with 32 teeth. I've been given a guide price of about £20, is this the right price to aim for?

It's for a Rockhopper '07.

Will this chainring fit my Rockhopper chainset?

I'm struggling to understand what I need to fit my current set-up. My current chainset is a "Shimano FCM-442-8, Octalink Spline, 9-speed, replaceable rings w/ alloy outer" and is a 4-bolt system.

My middle ring has worn and the chain has stretched so I want to replace with good quality, hard-wearing kit.

Middle chainring, chain (SRAM) , cassette (XT probably).

  • most shimano chainrings are bcd 104 not 102 like the XTR ring so no it wouldn't fit. XTR tends to be a law unto itself.
