cateye strada wireless comments
Works extremely well except when temperatures fall below 12 degrees then the speed sensor starts to fail and within 15 minutes the unit is useless as it gets colder. Tried a new battery etc . The only factor is temperature that reduces the sensor transmit distance to about 6 inches. I hear that this can be a common problem with wireless. So folks be careful what you buy. Mine may of course have been a QC issue.

My Cateye Vista (which probably uses the same communication technology) worked OK this morning when I think the temperature was below 12 deg but perhaps not by much. I only fitted it on Saturday (3 days ago) so it's only been used for about 80km. I'll bear your comments in mind.
GeoffOld cyclists never die; they just fit smaller chainrings ... and pedal faster0 -
had my Strada wireless since last summer - commuted all winter on it and never had a problem.

Had to exchange the first one I had after it packed up (forever) after 60miles. Replacement ok except that it reads "0" at speeds over 30 mph.
Other Cateyes on other bikes (Micro on TT bike) work fine.0 -
Had this problem with a Cateye microwireless. Switched to a wired cateye strada and had no problems at all this winter. I really like the simplicity of the strada design and display.0

bought one at the weekend - its the nicest computer to set up and use that I've had. Just touching the unit to advance through the functions is an excellent idea0
