heart monitor and watch
Any advice would be very very helpful.
I am looking for a simple HRM and watch. This will be my first HRM and I hope to use it on the commute and when I go running.
Requirements are:
Large face with very easy to read numbers.
Time, Stopwatch (preferably with lap times)
Heart rate with % of max and audible alert for training zones.
Average heart rate over session.
Not looking for computer compatibility (I use a mac for graphic stuff mainly)
Thanks

thanks for the advice - tried that already and it was good for the nuts and bolts of the functions but also wondered about the display, ease of use and peoples opinions.
budget was under £100Is the hippo for scuba?0 -
Under £100!!! You've got a massive choice for that price for that set of features. Under 30 and you'd still pick up something with those ffeatures.
Polar is an obvious choice for top money. I have one on the bike and its superb. But used a basic one running a few times and on some courses always got loads of interference - weird high readings etc. On the bike its not a problem, you usually ride out of it quickly enough. For running I had a Sigma Sport one. Very reliable, never gave freaky readings, change your own batteries and won;t break the bank.
Oh and the Polar after sales service is second to none.0 -
Timex Ironman Bodylink. Muuuch better features than a polar at the same price....0

Check out February's C+ - it had a review of HR monitors.
Best Buy was awarded to the Garmin Forerunner 50 @ £70 - it sounds like it has everything you need.
A cheaper alternative would be the X-Train V3 @ £32.99 - although the audible alarm for out-of-zone only sounds every 30 seconds.0 -
Even LIDL's had one £12.99 Watch and HRM plus other functions....0
