front chain ring shifting

Anyone got any ideas, when i shift from middle chain ring to small the front mech does not always shift far enough. i have tried the adjuster screw etc but just doesn't make any difference???

    too much cable tension.

    have a read of parktools.

    But the front mech is on its stops. and there is plenty of slack in the cable when in the small ring. any other ideas

    adjust the lower stop screw.

    Or what have you also done? new parts or....?

    it's a new deore front mech the adjuster is fully out

    Ok full story. what was the old? what is the frame and crankset.

    and the new deore which version. pics may help but you may have got the wrong mech and a trip to the LBS may be needed to sort out which.

    lbs fitted it think i'll go back to him again he's looked at it once. the previous mech was the same type never mind

    In that case it is LBS time as if the correct mech has been correctly fitted it should work fine.
