Hi guys,
I'm pretty sure I want an 18" OnOne Scandal now, but I'm not sure about running a five inch fork on it. I think it will work out at about a 71 degree headangle (it says it's 72 degrees with an 80-100mm fork, and it says you can use up to a 130mm fork).What do you guys (and gals ) think the handleing will be like. I noticed that a Cove Stiffee runs a 67.5 degree head angle, and a Hummer uses 68 degrees, so it can,'t be that slack, can it? Also, 3.5 pounds is plenty light, isn't it?
Anyways, all of your help will be much apprechiated, as I can't weight to give my money to Brant!

Its not just the head angle that changes - so does the seat angle, which can drop your weight too far back. BB height rasies also. Best to stick to the range the manufacturer quoted.

with the 130mm fork on I think it is comparible to a slightly steeper stiffee.

but why? It is a race bike, if you want to run forks that long get a 456

How about a Maxlight XC120? Smooth is good, but it is an XC frame, sdo if you are planning to batter it, I'd get a frame designed for it.

can't have an integrated headset, but do you think the angles will be OK?

Personally, I would steer away from using a fork that long on a frame designed for less. Have to consider other factors too - top tube length, seat angle, BB height. Of course, could get a travel adjust fork!
