Am running RR1.1 double eyeletted rims on Centaur '08 with DT DB spokes - ultra thin ones front 3x, rear look like more standard gauge spokes 3x both sides.
Nice, and perfect for the job they were purchased to do - In fact, total overkill - Advantage is the rim wear indicator.
Prefer my Open Pro CDs (on Ultegra, radial front) - They're just a little better/stiffer/more communicative, but no rim wear indicators.

Seen a few stories of single eyeletted DT rims cracking/spokes pulling through.

Go for the Campag. wheels - nice - had a pair of Ventos last year - stiff, if a little crashy... Found my handbuilts much better, but I'm not a powerful rider.

trig ... i have a pair of shamal ultras and can recommend them.

don't have high end hand builts so can't compare but i do know they're way better than ksyriums.

i think they're a good deal if you can get them for under £500.

Do DT1.1s on Centaur hubs but build them yourself.

The saving over Tune hubs will give you the budget for a truing stand, nipple driver and decent spoke key.

Get Roger Musson's ebook from www.wheelpro.co.uk - it tells you all you need to know.

Seriously; do it. It's not beyond you and you'll be like the cat that got the cream riding on wheels you built yourself.

I have some tune hubs, they are overpriced and IMO not as good as my dura ace hubs. I have a set of R.R1.1s and they are OK but nothing special. Some talk about cracks on the rims, but I have not experienced that.

Campag wheels have a great reputation, and my 4 year old Eurus have been very good and run smoothly. A devil to get the tyres off though.

yeah ... the tyre issue doesn't affect the shamal ultras. no idea why ... rim must be different width i guess. in any case tyres go on and off with the same ease as mavics.
