    £45 wheels on a £1000 Aluminium bike?

Still can't beat the P-X Carbon bike for £1000.

I have to agree with redddraggon, the Edinburgh seems almost poor value next to the carbon Planet X.

Full Ultegra SL on a £1000 Aluminium bike? Sounds good to me!

Planet X, Carbon frame with Ultegra SL and better wheels, sounds even better to me.

When you can buy full carbon frames for that money, an aluminium frame looks positively expensive - particularly as this one doesn't even have carbon stays.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Interesting points! Must admit that I am a sucker for aluminium frames - agree with the wheels though! Perfectly upgradeable bike I suppose, I gues the resale may be affected by the "no brand" as such.

Surely only clever marketing that makes one think run-of-the-mill carbon SHOULD be more expensive than GOOD alu? I'd certainly rather have full alu than anything with say carbon stays. And scandium pretty good stuff IMO/E.

I'd go with the Scottish one.

I rode a Cyfac aluminium bike recently - it wasn't for me, a bit too sharp handling - but it was a fantastic ride quality with just that kind of blunting of the road buzz that carbon gives you.

It convinced me that it's as much down to design as material.
