Has anyone tried this? Having spent ages getting rid of the lube originally on the bike that turns into black grinding paste every ride, I want to get a decent coating on the chain which this claims to do. Finish Line always seems to get good things said about it, but not heard anything about this one before. Road bike running a 10 speed set up mainly through country lanes, so not too muddy, although will be used in the wet. I don't mind having to reapply regularly if it means the drivetrain stays clean (or at least clean enough for a quick wash and wipe down at the end of each ride). I just don't want a squeaky chain or the stick black waxy gunk that I've just got rid of.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

It's good for dry conditions, but I wouldn't use it in the wet.

What's the best for wet (or mixed) conditions? I really want to avoid wax based as I assume this is what made such a mess last time around.

I use it in the wet as well, but it will require a re-lube and a wipe down after a wet ride.. I use it on all 3 bikes, and the commuter in all weathers. It does wash off, but after a wet commute (on arriving at work) I'll spray some light lube on the chain, then re-lube properly once I get back home.

Purple Extreme is the dogs danglies. Clean your chain properly with a non greasy cleaner let it dry then apply, leave overnight, bingo. Not cheap but then you dont use much at a time. Originally designed to lube underwater drills!!

I use the pro road now generally, instead of purple extreme. The purple extreme needs reapplying after about 150 miles or so - after which you get a squeak. The pro road is a bit stickier and lasts longer, particularly in the wet, but it does not clog up the chain or rear meck or attract too much grime. It is a great lube, I find. I save purple extreme now for new chains and for low mileage "best" bike.

I use Progold Prolink - I have tried the rest over the years, both wet and dry types, but this seems to have the best qualities of both. It is very clean in use but isn't easily washed away in the wet, the chain stays well lubed for a decent time whatever the weather. I have tried others that wash off even during a single ride, or those that quickly form a black yucky paste - the answer to these traumas is Prolink!
