Hi, my mate is after a new bike and likes the idea of full suspension, he's found one of these for £590 in his local bike shop and is wondering if it's worth the money, or to go for an older model bike which has been reduced to a comparative price.
Any suggestions or advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Money must be in the frame, as it looks like the spec is lifted from a 350 quid hardtail. Be worth testing it out - but for that money a hardtail will be a lot lighter and better specced.

I've told him that he'd get better spec on a hardtail, but he's set his heart on a full suspension now and doesn't want to change, he's seen a few older sale bikes on the web but as this is a new model and it's available locally he's pretty swayed by it to be honest.

He's changed his mind, we went to the lbs today and the owner basically told him that the bike was pretty low spec and wouldn't give him any more comfort than a good hardtail, he's now looking at other options, no doubt he'll have something else in mind tomorrow.
I think he's seen a Giant Trance 3 2007 pretty cheap and I think that's his next option, seems there's been a bit of opinion shown on these lately so I'll read up and let him know what the general consensus is.

Pauls Cycles probably - 07 model is £650 atm. Good bike, slightly heavier than this years and a hardtail would still have better spec at this price point.
