I'm just about to service my 'hidden' headset.
Should I replace the rubber seals, and if so, where do I source them? What's standard practice?
The last time I did this job, it was on a headset that was so old, it had no seals!

From either the manufacturer of the headset, the manufacturer of the bearing or you could possibly try a local bearing supplier...

I am doing the same but have another question about headset seals. Can someone tell me the correct way round for these seals. Mine is an Aheadset and the rubber seals have a rounded side and a grooved side. Which side faces the bearing race?

I doubt you'll be able to source suitable replacements - carefully remove the old seals using a scalpel or fine blade - taking care not to damage / bend it - many have a metal stiffener. Dunk the whole bearing in suitable solvent / cleaner and give it a good spin to dislodge any debris. Clean, dry thoroughly and repack with grease. Take care not to exert too much force in the wrong direction - the inner race can pop-out leaving ou with lots of little balls all over the place.....
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
