There are Bike Hire places in Playa Blanca, or there was last year.

Next to the port there are two, one is called Electo Bike (or something like that), this has electric bikes (?) and road bikes ( i think they have a website)

Also next to this is another place that has mountain bikes and some road bikes, i don't know the name of this one but it is part of a chain, i think they have another site in Peurto Del Carmen.

Bikes looked ok, generic aluminium with 105.

Advise taking own helmet, shoes, pedals etc.

They both seemed a bit hopeless though, so may be a good idea to get it lined up for your arrival

    Cheers

The Electo bike shop is no use for a decent bike (even though it is english run) however the shop next door has good bikes for hire and they will put on which ever pedals you need so just take your cycling shoes. There is no charge for helmets and the one I got was very good.
A nice easy ride is to El Golfo from Playa Blanca but the big test is riding up Femmes especially in a strong head wind. The Fire Mountain ride is not too difficult,
  • Hi there,

We have just been on holiday in lanzarote, playa blanca for 2 weeks and hired bikes from the 'Electrobike shop' , he had just replaced all his mountain bike stock with very high quality BH bikes. I hired the BH Spyro all carbon and a Deore setup and my wife hired the BH OverX with Shimano Acera. €63 euros per week per bike, compared with the shop next door Renner Bike who wanted €110 for the same setup. I can highly reccomend 'Electrobike' with its great british liverpool staff.
PS He also has new Bianchi , BH, and Giant Road bikes!

    Cruiserman
Good to hear that Cruiserman, when I was there a few months ago they did not have any decent road bikes and appeared to be specialising in those electro bikes. The next time I go (probably within 12 months) I will go there.
  • Hi everybody:
I suggest you COOL BIKES, a new rent a bike in the centre of Playa Blanca. Have a look at www.coolbikes.es
The bikes are amazing and new. Excellent maintenance!!!
    Best regards and happy 2013!!!
  • Cool Bikes hire out novelty bikes, fine for just knocking about, but not good bikes for proper cycling. Renner appears to be shut in Playa Blanca. Trawl the internet or Puerto del Carmen for the good shops.
