Ryanair and bike bag dimensions

I'm off to ride the Raid Pyrenean in September, and will be taking my bike with me. I have a Neil Pryde bag, which is about 10 cms longer than Ryanair's maximum, as stated on their website.
I've done numerous flights with Easyjet and Monarch, without a problem, I'm now wondering if I need to buy a new bag/box. I wouldn't mind the excuse to buy a Polaris Bikepod.
What are people's experiences?

Never seen them measure one. Just came back with them with large bag. Just weighed it in Manchester and did not even do that at Palma.
