Hi

I have a problem where my rear disk brake is locked on tight after the bike has been standing for a year or so. There appears to be a leak from the reservoir too.

The bike is a Kona stinky 05 with Hayes Nine hydraulic brakes.

Can anyone help me with the best plan of action?

Thanks.

  • bike service and brake overhall / bleed either spend a day and diy if you are competant or pay LBS for a full service either way it will pay dividends as bike condition without regular use / servicing will need an overhaul.

brake problem sounds like moisture absorbed from leak to contaminate the fluid only way to sort is to strip down clean and bleed and cure the leak!!
  • Thanks. A service it is then. At least I know its not a ten minute problem that I could easily fix with a quick readup.

    Thanks.
