Eurosport decreasing its support for cycling?

Just perusing the schedule which is here: http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/cyc ... 96340.html

I notice that Tour of Flanders gets half an hour of live coverage this year - last year it was about 2 hours. 30 minutes is hardly worth it.

Paris-nice gets 45 minutes a day of live coverage; Paris-Roubain one hour. One hour????

Is it my imagination or this less than last year?

Are they streaming the video from their website? Trouble is, cycling plays second-fiddle behind the likes of tennis, football and motorsports as far as Eurosport UK are concerned.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Of course if you were still watching International Eurosport FREE on an old analogue satellite system like me ( ), the coverage would be more like this:

    Paris-Nice prologue highlights tonight then...

    Mon:
    P-N stage 1, 14:00-15:45

    Tue:
    P-N stage 2 , 14:00-15:45

    Wed:
    P-N stage 3, 13:30-15:15
    Tirreno-Adriatico stage 1, 15:15-16:00

    Thu:
    P-N stage 4, 14:30-15:45
    T-A stage 2, 15:45-16:15

    Fri:
    P-N stage 5, 16:15-17:00
    T-A stage 3, 17:30-18:00

    Sat:
    P-N stage 6, 16:00-17:00
    T-A stage 4, 17:00-17:45

    ...

    which is a bit better!

That looks remarkably similar to the British ES schedule to me...

Actually (just checked), it is the same isn't it! Well, there aren't many days when there are only 45 minutes of Paris Nice coverage.

I certainly hope that the Tour of Flanders and Paris Roubaix get more than Vermooten indicated because they are two of my favourite races.

Incidentally, there's a good online UK TV listings site here.

The ES Analog (german) is saying 105 minutes at 1500 cet, monday/tuesday

Then 105 mins at 14.30 wednesday followed by 45mins of Tirreno Adriatico
    Then it varies.

Your problems are with British Eurosport rubbish and some people are using a motorised dish to pick up French Eurosport.

The analog usually picks up English commentary but French as allways is French

I get TV coverage of a lot of European races from here: http://www.youtorrent.com/tag/?q=cycling Got good quality recordings ofHet Volk and KBK the other day. Mine to keep forever. The downside is that the good stuff is usually in Flemish or Spanish, neither of which I understand so it makes watching it that bit less compelling.

  • According to ColinJ's TV listings tip, there's Paris-Nice highlights tonight at 10pm. 60 minutes-worth...!!

It was worth 2 hours of abstract imagery caused by rain on the lens just to see Gert destroy the rest of the field as if he'd found himself in a Premier calendar event by mistake.

I thought that it was pretty exciting! One minute the riders were grovelling at about 25 kph, the next they were doing 60 kph and skinny Spanish climbers with anguished looks on their faces were getting blasted off the back of the bunch. Crashes, echelons, rivers running down the side of the road - great stuff! Not the kind of weather I like to ride in though...

I know I was disappointed when I couldn't find them after looking for them.
