Squeaky shock mount is driving me NUTS!

Hope someone can give me an easy answer here.
I have a 2006 Kona Kikapu with a basic Fox Vanilla coil shock.
Over the last few months a squeaking noise has developed from the bottom shock mount.
Since I got a new Hollowtech BB and chainset fitted last week it has intensified to the point where it's near constant, something to do with having a stiffer bottom bracket and it transferring more of my pedaling forces straight into the frame rather than flopping the knoackered bearings around I assume.
The noise is definitely a metal on metal squeaking, so I've had a really careful look at the welds around the shock mount and bottom bracket and the paint is pristine and there are no tell tale signs of anything untoward.
So in my little head I've got it narrowed down to one of two options:
1. Something needs greasing in the interface between the shock and the mount (Could it be the bushings? If so how do I go about greasing them?)
2. (And this seems the less likely option) one or both of the pivots which sit just above the BB shell is squeaking, although I'm fairly sure this isn't where the sound is coming from.
Any help/advice would be appreciated. If it makes a difference the thinner of the two ends of the shock is the one where I'm having the problems.

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

might just need new DU bushes and mounting hardware.
strip it down and have a look."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
