Grrrrrr! Front Dérailleur Problem...

Having already had my new bike back to the shop to stop the chain getting thrown off when shifting to the big ring up front, I have now noticed another problem.

In the lowest gear, the chain rubs the inside of the front dérailleur. I tried adjusting the inner limit screw, but it didn't seem to make much difference.

Any ideas as to how I might fix this one without another trip to my LBS?

Is it normal to have these kinds of teething problems?

You should ask in the know how section :D
It may not be the limit screw, maybe you have too much tension on the gear cable.
To check the limit screws release tension on the cable, then pull the cable to change up and down to check the screws, dont use the shifters to check limit screws.
I suspect the outer limit screw needs adjusting to stop the chain jumping off, and also that you have too much tension on cable stopping changer from rubbing.

    moved.

which rear gears is the chain rubbing in? all or just some? and if some which.

Is it normal. yes which is why most shops provide a free "service" tune up after a few weeks as things do need to bed in.

    Just the lowest gear.

If it's only the largest sprocket I wouldn't worry about it too much, I rarely use my smallest gear very much.
