i am having trouble with my computer, whenever i try to use certain functions or try to acces certain pages, the computer will close it down.

for example, whenever i enter virus or antivirus into my search engine, explorer closes down. whenever i try to load norton, it closes down the application. when i try to look at a post on here with the words bike porn in the title, explorer closes down. when i try to look at porn, explorer closes down.

if i try and get the task manager to open, it will only open for a split second before closing so i cant turn off whatever application is miss behaving.

bearing in mind i cant load any anti virus, what can i do? is there somewhere a virus is most likely to live and can i seek it out on my own? thanks in advance

Have you tried booting your computer in safe mode?

If not, do it and run a full virus scan whilst in safe mode, turn your computer off, restart it and when it starts, keep hitting the F8 key, then choose safe mode from the list, further info here depending on what operating system you are running:

Are you sure someone hasn't been messing with the computer, such as changing something like the parental guidance settings?

Backup any important files externally then re-install windows (i.e. completely wipe the hard drive). Will take a while to re-intall all your porgrams, but it is the only thing that worked for me when we got a whole package of viruses - despite countless scans nothing worked.

I seem to be suffering from the same problem now..... Firefox just keeps crashing randomly
