First race tomorrow in 18 years. I’m doing a private trial in a Hilly 25 run by Matlock cc in Derbyshire. I’ll be riding my winter bike with all my winter kit on so if I don’t to very well then at least I’ll have an excuse. I feel fairly fit but I haven’t got a clue what time I might do but I’ll be happy if I beat evens.
I’ll post the results tomorrow worts and all.

Did my first race yesterday since breaking collarbone last June - circuit race at the Milton Keynes Bowl (1hr+5laps). Skillfully managed to hide in the bunch for 56 minutes, finally started to feel a bit feisty so I did a turn on the front and immediately blew my doors off.............what a muppet!

Oh well, far from "fit" at the minute having had most of January's training disrupted with a chest infection, so it can only get better....................can't it?

A bit disappointed. Actual distance was only 13 miles, which I did in 43.01, which was about 8 mins off the winner and well under evens. Better get out and do some more training.
