Look alloy steerer carbon forks problem?

I have some Look alloy steerer carbon forks on my Tifosi winter bike- not sure of the model
Have just noticed a thumbprint sized area on the rear of the fork crown where the gelcoat/surface finish has come off.
I have lightly flatted it back to reveal the alloy fork crown with no obvious damage/cracks or whatever
I have not crashed and apart from a couple of air trips in a box- the forks have not been stressed.
Should I change the forks or is painting over an option?
