would it be better to get my lbs to choose the ideal gearing (mechs, chain etc) for my giant glory 8 (whice will be used for freeride), or should i buy the parts of the net and them get them fitted at my lbs? i know that my lbs will charge a lot more than say... chain reaction, but i really am clueless when it comes to gears and other clicky bits, cables and so on.

i intend to get these:

and ex721's on pro 2's for wheels if that helps.

please help :(

any suggestions are welcome :D

hmmm personally i think i would get the wheels from merlin cycles and the rest from the LBS and get them to fit them all. the wheels from merlins are considered to be top notch (i've yet to test mine though) and supporting the LBS is a good idea.
  • cheers dirtbiker, i was kinda' thinking along the same lines, but i think i will get the the larger components ie. forks, of the net purly because of the savings.

don't tell my lbs but i do that. things like the 2 charge spoon saddles, hope 1 led light i'm getting, new giro helmet i buy from my lbs but its hard to say no to biiig savings on stuff like forks and the build quality of wheels from merlins.
