VooDoo or Kona Donor Frame??

I am building a pared down, superlight 650C wheeled fixie for a 30-mile communte to work. This is my plan:
Basically it's a Kona frame, with all braze-ons (including rear canti bosses) removed and some Paul Components track ends - which were a pain to get - fitted:
Only trouble is that I've just weighed the frame at 2200g. I can buy a VooDoo Bokor frame with fixed / SS dropouts, and it will be 1700g. Saving 500g on the Kona will be practically impossible, using the finishing kit I have:
Pace RC31 carbon rigid forks
Carbon flat-bars
" seatpost
Selle Italia SLR XP saddle
Cook Bros Racing chainset
Hope Mono Mini dront disk (no rear brake)
Goldtec rear hub
Hope Pro 2 front hub
Open Pro 650C rims
Vredstein Fortezza TriComp tyres
..which brings me to my dilemma. My early-era Kona is a Joe Murray geometry, which I love. VooDoo claim that Joe Murray designed their geometry, but the frames are new-tech Taiwanese ally, rather than my pleasingly springy racelight steel.
Modding the Kona (including new paint) will cost more than a new Bokor frame. So keep it simple with the Kona, or go (very)light in aluminium with the VooDoo?

0.5kg (1.1lb) surely of no meaningful significance in the "bigger" picture? All else being equal maybe 5% of total bike weight? Assuming rider at 10st, then maybe a 1.5% difference in combined rider and machine weight?
I have no particular preference for steel v. alu, so my decision would be in favour of whichever one is the prettier!!d.j.

The Kona will be cooler (especially with those old school parts) and that's the most important thing. And steel is real etc0
