finally decided to buy a bike carrier so i don't have to keep putting the bike in the boot, can't decide between Thule 591 or Atera Giro AF. Anybody got any experience with these or recommendations, thanks

I have the Thule 591 and find it very quick and easy to use and holds the bike very secure in transit. It's also quick and easy to clamp on the roof bars. Managed to get a deal on eBay with 2 for £110 compared to the £90 Halfrauds was charging.
  • I have the Atera Giros and can honestly say they are great. so easy and quick to use it is unbeleivable, and never even the faintest wobble from them whilst carrying. I got mine with the bars from roofbox.co.uk that advertise in the back of the bike mags and they were cheap and quick to deliver also got them keyed alike so 1 key does all the locks.

Thule 591's, very very good bits of kit, so easy to use (even with cold wet muddy hands) & very secure.

http://www.skidrive.co.uk/cycle/product ... tno=591000 is probably the cheapest place for them.

What car will it be used on? and do you want tow bar mounted of strap on?

I have a Thule 9105 Clip on high. Holds 2 bikes and keeps them free of knocks and scratches. As well as extremely secure. No need for a light/number plate board either. Doesn't fit every car though.

591s for me, but i would say that as i have just bought 2 from skidrive for £108 delivered, tried the cheap ones(crap) so upgraded last week, been out today with the misses and my bike on, easy to fit, easy to load.
