1.50 or 1.95 tyres
I need to replace my trusty Schwalbe City Jet tyres and they have been so good I'm getting the same again. I have been riding 1.50 section City Jets but they also do a 1.95 section version. What would be the advantage/disadvantage of a wider section tyre? I like the 1.50's but I was just curious. I pump the 1.50's up to there max as I prefer a firm ride (ooo err missus)

The only advantage I am aware of with a fatter tyre on the road is more shock resistance. If you are happy with a well inflated firm ride, I'd go the other way to a 1" or 1.25". On a 1" its similar to a 25mm section tyre so will fly along0

think the city jet comes in just those two sizes - the wider 1.95 will be heavier and have more rolling resistance, but slightly more shock absorbing potential. Stick with the 1.5 if you use your bike mostly on the road.We are born with the dead:
