Which bike??

I have just started getting into mountain biking and wondered what bike would be best to start off with. I'm quite broke and only have £300 to spend

Any suggestions would be great.

There are quite a few bike you could get. I reckon that the Gt avalanche 3.0 is cool but also the set of halfords bike they offer. This bike looks good and it has Alexrim dp-17. Ebay is also a good place to get bikes and this is where I got mine from. I got mine for £100 cheaper than I could find it anywhere else. You can get a lot for your money as there is so much competition. Claud butler of Gt are coolio

I just bought a GT Avalanche 1.0 from chainreaction cycles for £329. It has V brakes and not discs (as is a euro model) but is still, i think/hope, a good buy - has got excellent reviews from what i have read.
