I hate Punc@#$%^
I want the word removed from the English language!
4 in a week, 2 of them today, one in front, one in rear.
Think if we don't acknowledge their existence they will go away? WTF

I put a new back tyre (Conti TravelContact) on last April, and left the front as the ancient no-name MTB knobbly. I went nearly 7 months without any p*nct*res at all - that's about 2000 miles over glass-strewn roads! In the end my first one was a pinch flat after I let the tyre get too soft. Then when changing the tyre (which took *ages* - half an hour to get it off, 20 mins to put it on) I managed to pinch the new tube and had to repeat the process!
Then I got a metal spike through the tyre 2 days later, but that remains my only "proper" p*nct*re with the new tyre.
Then I got my new bike a couple of weeks ago and already got a puncture on Monday - seems like Specialized use *really* thin inner tubes on their bikes, maybe so they seem lighter in the shop! I patched it but it's still leaking very slowly, can't be bothered to fix it till the weekend though as it's rideable! Only good thing is the tyre went flat just before I got to the station so I had plenty of time to fix it on the train0 -
When they really p*ss me off or i am running late, then i do ignore punctures. The rear wheel doesn't appreciate it much though.
And there was that one occasion where i started kicking the back wheel in frustration at ANOTHER puncture... :oops:0 -
Schwalbe Marathon Plus, see above.
25 miles/day in London, puncture-free for 14 months
they're heavy and the wet weather grip is so-so, but if you keep the pressure about right, they're bullet proof0 -
I blew out two tubies within an hour of each other. Foaming rage would be putting it mildly. Somehow I resisted the urge to throw my bike off a nearby cliff. On the bright
side, the sag wagon was air conditioned.

Marathon Plus tyres are an improvement, but they are not bullet proof. They reduced my puncture rate to an average of one a month.

I havn't had a puncture in two months, some people seem to be more prone to them than others for some reason. Maybe they shouldn't ride behind the broken glass and nail throwing machine.0

Most of my punctures are caused by Pine needles or Flints, of which there are plenty on my routes, passing through Thetford forest.
Anyone used the kevlar tyre liner thingies?0 -

I'm been running on Marathons (not pluses) for 12 months on Brompton. No punctures - wore the type out!. 2500 miles (thatls well over 3000 miles on a standard wheel). Lots of broken glass (Hurst Street in Birmingham). The worn out tyre was full of glass cuts - non got though the Kevlar"I thought of it while riding my bicycle."0 -
I recently bought a Giant Yukon and immediately changed the no-name knobbly tyres for Bontrager kevlar lined ones ,I have only done 150 miles on them so far but we shall see how they fare.0
