True, we need to cross-refer to similar lists for moto GP / Superbikes and tennis.

Eurosport is a pile of crap. No one gives a toss about MotoGP and crap like that. Eurosport is always full of crap sport, then when they can show some decent stuff they won't show it all.

Moto GP is a bigger draw than cycling hence the cycling gets bumped

Is it? I don't know anyone personally who's interested. Football - yes, rugby - yes, tennis - yes, F1 - yes, even snooker and darts- yes, but no one I know give's a rat's ass about MotoGP.

Glad to see they got their priorities right and that the womens' biathlon promptly bumped Andy Murray & his tennis chums out the way exactly on schedule today.

Yeah, have to say I'd prefer to watch MotoGP than dull F1 any day of the week!

MotoGP has excitement, it's actually a race where the vast majority of the riders can compete with each other. That makes it interesting to watch from a sporting perspective. It's not an event that turns into a procession after lap 1 like F1 is. Jostle for position from the start, hold your position and then that's it until engines fail etc. The only time any over taking goes on is when someone gets lapped. Just listen to the commentators during an F1 race "oh now look, someone's pulled into the pits!!!". Really? Interesting.. Anyone overtaken anyone yet to make a race of it? No.

In case you didn't see the other Eurosport thread... listings for British Eurosport are available here. Select British Eurosport in one of the channel selector boxes.

    thanks colin.

Further to what I was saying about F1 even their own are saying it's crap!

I'd thought about this a long time ago. Seemed it would make it more interesting. Got the idea when thinking back to when I played cricket at school. As we had such a good team we would reverse the batting order in order that it would make more of a match of it - and give the lower order batsmen a chance to have a go.

Continental Europeans have different priorities in sport compared with the British. When bemoaning the lack of what YOU prefer on Eurosport, perhaps you may keep this in mind.
I say what I like and I like what I say!
  • I'm sure I'm far from alone, but I have an old second-hand box and dish tuned to the International Eurosport signal, which still broadcasts with English language commentaries. There is far more cycling coverage there, particularly of the classics - the TV schedule is on Eurosport.de. No way would I pay Rupert Murdoch for an inferior service, and I would suggest any cyclist who really wants to see the big races should do as I and many others have done.
  • Try looking at the TV schedule for Eurpsport.de i.e. the International Eurosport channel, which is still free to air and has English language commentary. There is far more cycling on there, particularly with regard to coverage of the classics. Why pay Mr Murdoch for an inferior service, when you can (as I and many others have done) get yourself a second-hand box and dish and tune in to the international signal.

  • Watching the Cycling on Eurosport over the w/end......... Duffers & Kelly what a
double act, I do really think that Duffield should call it a day, there is only so much
we can take re the local Fayre!!

Were Duffers and Kelly co-commentating? I thought Kelly was with Harman doing Paris-Nice whilst Duffers was as confusing as ever with some new sidekick who was worse on Tirreno-Adriatico?

Anyway, did anyon eelse notice that during the Paris-Nice coverage yesterday the ticker at the bottom of the screen said they'd have live coverage of Milan-San Remo from 2 pm on Saturday on Eurosport 2? Fingers crossed.

Yeah Kelly is usually on with Harmon, and he was for the Paris Nice. Duffers was on with the guy called Carlton Kirby (he seems to commentate on the Paris-Dakar 4x4 race, so I guess cycling isn't his main field of expertise).

I too noticed the ticker, and I've seen a few adverts for the Milan-San Remo Live on Saturday - Eurosport 2, let's hope we get it!

The commentating for Paris Nice was far better than Adriatica. The new guy alongside Duffers didn't spot that Freire won the stage until the results came up on the screen!
