hi every one,
at the moment my bike has threaded headset on and the fork stem is 1" diameter,
the headtube has a diameter of 1.5",
what i'm wanting to do is dump the standard forks and fit some downhill forks which are 1"1/8 diameter,
is this possible?? can i get a threadless headset to do this??
I've just started getting into my biking so sorry if i'm thick

sorry not possible with your frame."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

what diameter is the headtube on most bikes??
i like the frame on my current bike and it would be a shame to get rid of it0 -
1 1/8" steerer tube. (on the fork) the head tube size can vary due to the differing headset designs."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

so all i need to find is a headset that will fit the headtube on my frame and allow me to fit some 1 1/8 diameter steering tube on the forks that i want to fit???
does that sound right???0 -
no is you have a 1" steerered fork now you can NOT fit a 1 1/8" steered fork.
they do not fit and there are no headsets that do the job anyway.
Different fork or new frame.
Also a frame for a 1" steerered fork will not be DH fork suitable."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
