I got shoes and pedals last time - 4 days after the offers started.

That's a good thing about Cornwall - less people after the gear.

I bought some fast-wicking cycling jerseys would you believe for £6 each - and to be honest they are pretty darn good!!! I was most surprised!

Will defo check it out - the cycling gear doesn't seem to sell in my local one... which is a touch for me!
  • Sod the gloves, tops, lights and bags - they're doing unicycles.

Wonder how that would go down on the trails

Got a branch very nearby so Monday morning am going to get a jacket, some tights and socks and a couple of jerseys - all comes to about £20 - bargain.

And all black - no lurid coloured Lycra for me
  • I'll be there at 8.25 on Monday. Lidl are astoundingly good value a few times a year. :D

    Thanks for the heads up!

Just been to the one in norwich and got some trousere, a shirt, some gloves and some socks (socks are so i can have dry feet at work today)

The trays for mens jackets, tools and helmets where empty at 08:45
    Giant TCR advanced 2 (Summer/race)
    Merlin single malt fixie (Commuter/winter/training)
    Trek superfly 7 (Summer XC)
Giant Yukon singlespeed conversion (winter MTB/Ice/snow)

  • I was in our Chichester branch at about 8.20 this morning. Surprisingly empty, but then again the weather is a bit of a nightmare down here.

I found the jackets to short in the arm for my gorilla proportions, so restricted myself to the pair of shoes and a computer - darn good value for less than 18 quid, even if they only last a year!

Just about to start fitting new toys and then falling over lots! :D

I got a pair of the shoes (£15), a pair of gloves(£2) and two of the saddle bag tool kits (£5 ea).

Went for my first ride yesterday and loved it but got my nice trainers filthy so £15 shoes are very welcome.

The mitts seem a bargian too...

...But I've just had a look at the saddle bag.

I thought it would be the same as another similar thing I've got but it wasn't....

for me these are an ABSOLUTE BARGAIN!

The bag itself seems robust and cleverly engineered (a "snap-to" buckle to fasten it to the saddle, and a useful "expander" section to cramp in more kit)

The tools you get might not turn out to be the best quality but there's something very much like my parktool, a small puncture repair kit and some tyre levers, a chain tool, and some mini spanners.

    I'd definitely recommend them.

EDIt: The picture on the Lidl website isn't what I bought. That picture is of the thing I already had. To my mind the one I bought today is better - the allen key tool is more robust, the bag is more substantial, and you get a chain key included.
  • Well, I've just fitted cleats to the shoes and pedals to the bike, and as the rain started to come down again, I had a quick buzz up and down our road.

:D:D Lots and lots of fun! :D:D

Actually not that different in feel t otoeclips until I concentrated on applying pressure 360 degrees around the stroke, and just zipped ahead. I'll have to fit a couple more test rides before I go out with the club on Sunday.

Now just waiting for the first of the comedy (for other people!) falls! I feel as though I've just been sentanced to two cut palms, a scraped knee and bad bruising to the hip and elbow. It just hasn't happened yet and I don't know when it will! :? :D

Just bought myself a jacket, jersey, pair of shorts and pair of padded trousers. The shorts are 2 parts - tight padded lycra inner with a cheap, football short type outer. I'm keeping the inner and wearing my own shorts over the top. All very good value.!

    I don't hold out much hope. . . .

My branch had no cycle computers, no pumps, no socks, no rucksacks, no adults helmets, well nothing really except womens cycling shorts, a few tool bags and shoes oh, and I bought the last gel seat for the gf

I thought I would put one on the front wheel, one on the back, and another round my wrist to see how fast I can walk

Two were for other people, as was the pump.

Got my socks x2, shoes and pump at 08:05 this morning. Bit dissappointed that the pu,mp only extends 3" but till I pump a tube up can't really review it. Got to do the cleat fitting thing later. Happy with the price tho.

Went to the Halifax store today only to remember it closed down a while back! Looks like I'm going to miss out on this kit.

Why don't they offer it all the time? Are they making a loss just to get people in the store?

Great thing about living in Lincolnshire is that there's no decent cycling, so no other cyclists to compete with. Its kinda a big drawback though...

Got a few things in the Maidstone store, shoes, gloves, jersey, socks, computer, lights and shorts.

Had no trousers left in my size, but had plenty of most of the other stuff, even at 5:30pm.

    Picked up last night

    Womens shorts
    Womens top
    Womens jacket
    Mens shorts
    Mens top
    Pump
    Shoes
    3 packs of socks

    All for £51

Amazing value when you consider you could pay that just for one item of branded clothing

Got some spare cash and was very tempted to Ebay some of the pumps. will see when I pass a Lidl next.

  • My other half got me a set of front and rear lights from Lidl today, they seem very bright compared to the last time I had lights on a bike, which was many moons ago, she wasn't sure what else I wanted, but as she's going back there tomorrow, I want another set of lights and a bike computer as spares, along with the multi too kit/pouch and a mini pump.

  • Bought a pair of shoes and 2 pair of socks less than £18, a real bargain even if they last a year, but having had Lidl stuff before it will probably last much longer ! We are lucky in Chesterfield we have 2 Lidl stores within a couple of miles the branch on Foljambe road was pretty much out unless you need ladies stuff, the new store on Whittington Moor has quite a few pairs of mens shoes left but few shirts etc...this was as of yesterday morning.
