Suspension, or Not, for "Trials" Type Riding

And still pondering. So I'm 42 and not into extreme riding but enjoy going over big logs, jumping ditches, wheelies, a bit of BMX track, general foolery. I also ride enduro and trials motorcycles - good suspension is a big factor.
A GT Chucker is the main steed for larkin about on, and for XC duties a Halfords GT XCR5 the main choice where challenging terrain is more my thing than speed.
The full-suspension bike is the biz - the suspension is great, the brakes spot on, but its too big for "trials" type use.
The Chucker is perfect size-wise, but needs some hydraulic disks and some damped forks, and well, I would really like some suspension out back as well.
I want a combination of both bikes, a small suspension bike. The Halfords GT only comes in med and large, I need a small 16" to give enough stand-over clearance. Worth pointing out that the Chucker is actually very close in size to a 16" despite its quoted smaller frame size.
Budget is this side of £800, and the only thing that comes close is a Mongoose Otero:

Now I don't care about XC performance, just want something robust but not too weighty. The spec on this bike is more than adequate, just no idea on weight and quality.
Am I barking up the wrong tree, or just plain barking? The Halfords XCR5 would be pretty close to ideal if they just made a smaller one!

That Mongoose is going to be very similar to your current GT. I don't quite understand why you want an FS bike for trials riding, it is not a combination often found."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

Yes I have been thinking the same overnight. I would still like suspension but it adds weight and seat height so maybe not the best option, and ultimately not critical for slow speed stuff. If there was a small light and tough bike with just a few inches of suspension I would go for that - a trials motorcycle is exactly that when compared with an enduro or MX bike with 12+ inches of travel.
For a bicycle there is a lot to be said for simplicity....
