Hi,
after a fantastic time at Dalby Forest on Saturday I am keen to get a bike and do more mountain biking.
I have under £300 to spend so should I use that to buy one of the ones listed in the 'What bike?' thread (new) or look for a second hand bike? with perhaps better spec but risk of going wrong. I know there is no definitive answer to this but generally is it better to go for the safer option of buying new?
Many thanks, I would really appreciate the advice

What do you ride at the moment? If you could keep that for say 6 months and save another £200/£300 then the bikes you could get would be a stage up.
You could use that time to polish your skills and build up the fitness.Current steed is a '07 Carrera Banshee X
+ cheap road/commuting bike0
