Hi
I am building up my 456 Inbred using the Deore cranks from my "full sus" and am looking for advice in the Octalink bottom bracket department. The full sus bottom bracket was a 68 x 118 and I want to buy a new LX BB to go on the Inbred. I trial fitted the old BB to the Inbred frame as the shell sizes are the same, however when fitted the middle chain ring is only 2-3mm from the chainstay, is this normal?, and therefore can I puchase like for like spindle length wise.
Also I am running only a middle and inner chain ring with a bash, can I go for a 121 spindle length which would move the both chain rings out from the frame 3mm.
Or has my logic let me down.
