Best bikes for sportives under £1000

I am looking for a comfortable sportive bike maybe but not necessarily carbon, I have a budget of £1000 max and am open to suggestions

I got a Giant SCR 1.0 for this purpose for less than £500.

Other contendor for me was the Specialized Allez.

Do a search, this has been covered loads.

I have reasently found ot about Chris Boardman's new range of bikes.

For £900 there is the Boardman team racing bike

This has had amazing reviews. However you can only perchase one of these via halfords. The bike is so good for the money its worth it though.

You could get a Planet-X or Focus Cayo, both carbon frames with Ultegra for £999.
